We look forward to tonight’s new program, Facts, Food and Fun with Cincinnati and Soup author, Cheri Brinkman. Brinkman offers an agri-history of Cincinnati, answering the questions of why Cincinnatians grow and eat what we do. This class includes recipes and nostalgia from the recent past, plus a signed copy of Cheri Brinkman’s book, Cincinnati and Soup: A Second Helping! Technology and food through to the 21st century, plus a wild ride through Cincinnati armed with nothing but a cheese coney and a fork.

Cheri Brinkman is an accomplished author of Cincinnati and Soup: Recipes from the Queen City and Great Soup, Cincinnati and Soup: A Second Helping: More Recipes from the Queen City and Cincinnati and Soup: Festivals and Frolics: Classic Cincinnati Festival Recipes. Her books are, currently, the best-selling local cookbooks and the only Cincinnati historic series cookbooks ever published. Profits from the books go to many local charities including WCET, Cancer Free Kids Butterfly Walk, etc.
Brinkman is a graduate of Monterey Peninsula College and the University of Cincinnati. She is a lifelong resident of the Queen City, and a college educator, having taught at Univ. of Cincinnati , Miami University and DeVry University for numerous years. Cheri is also an Ohio 4H County Key Advisor for Warren County and is an Ohio State Fair Judge for Health and Safety competitions. She is, also, an accomplished singer and has sung in many local churches and opera as well as acting credits which include many regional theaters, WLW- television and the Playhouse in the Park. Brinkman has been a regular food presenter with FOX 19 and FOX 45 in Cincinnati and Dayton.
